Texas Longhorn’s Spring Game Recap
Good weather, crawfish, and Texas football what more do you need? I would describe April 23 2022 as one of those days that I wish never ended. Arriving at the stadium around 12:15 PM I tour the grounds around Darrell K. Royal watching all the booths set up for their big start at 2 o’clock. Team autographs, fire sale, and food trucks. Music stages, carnival games, and team shops. So much to do in such little time. I arrive at the fire sale to wait in line for two hours. Coming away with a baseball catchers chest mount And some pullovers right in time for summer. (Sarcasm) I run the goods back to my car. By this time it was around 4:30 and I just knew I needed some crawfish. I was craving them all day. Once I was done eating I head inside to find my seat for the orange and white spring game. Turning over 40% of the team I knew I was going to see a lot of new faces. Isaiah Neyor, Malik Murphy, Quinn Ewers just to name a few. Everyone’s attention was suddenly drawn away from the spring game as former Texas quarterback Vince Young, and University of Texas’ Minister of Culture Matthew McConaughey came out to the sidelines. Both Hudson Card and Quinn Ewers looked really good. Ewers’ deep ball to Neyor really got the crowd excited.
Due to injuries prior to this event star running back Bijan Robinson and freshman quarterback Malik Murphy did not participate. But that did not stop the fun from happening. Being short handed on the offensive line this was a offense versus defense style scrimmage. But have no fear longhorn fans, we are still awaiting seven offensive lineman to arrive on campus now that they have finished up their senior year of high school. Alabama wide receiver transfer Agiye Hall Did not participate as well having committed three days before. All in all I am very excited about the upcoming season for the Texas Longhorns. With very explosive offensive weapons, and a defense that I think is already improved from last year I hope we are able to make strides over the summer and get ready for Nick Saban, Bryce Young and Alabama week two.
